Sokoto State Government Declares Work-Free Day to Enable INEC Voter Registration

The Sokoto State Government has declared Friday, 24th July, 2026 a work-free day to enable Civil Servants of voting age who have not yet registered to participate in the ongoing Voter registration exercise and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Governor Ahmed Aliyu urges Civil Servants who have not registered to take advantage of the work-free day to obtain their PVCs, to enable them exercise their civic responsibility in the forthcoming general elections.

A statement by Abubakar Bawa, Director General Media and Publicity, says, the Governor restates his Administration’s commitment to ensuring that Civil Servants in the State are given every opportunity to participate in the National assignments and exercise their Civic rights.

The statement further enjoins the public yet to register or have attained the stipulated age for voter registration to take advantage of the two-weeks extension of the exercise to register and obtain their PVCs.

The two-weeks extension of the ongoing voter registration exercise ends Sunday, 26th July, 2026.
