Bandits Kill 13 in Fresh Attack In Benue, Police Kill Two

Bandits unleashed fresh terror on the people of Afeyi-Ogboju Community, killing 13 residents in Benue State. Several others were inflicted with different degrees of injuries. The police, in a swift operation, killed 2 bandits in the early hours of Tuesday.

The two bandits met their Waterloo hours after the Benue State Commissioner of Police, CP Cletus Nwadiogbu, ordered sift operations to fish out the perpetrators. The police recovered one AK 47 rifle and 15 rounds of live ammunition.

The two bandits were part of the syndicate who unleashed terror on the agrarian community after rustling 20 cows in the early hours of Tuesday, between 6:30am to 7.00am when the residents were waking up to begin the day activities.

The bandits also destroyed and razed several homes while escaping with the rustled cows. They shot at the residents, killing 13, including children, to prevent anyone from identifying them.

CP Cletus Nwadiogbu, Commissioner of Police, visited the community with tactical teams to assess the scale of destruction inflicted on the community.
