The Police have arrested five Pakistani nationals in possession of 35 mobile phones in a separate intelligence-led operations conducted in Otukpo and Ugbokolo, Benue State.
Operatives of the Benue State Police Command also arrested three Pakistanis at Adoka Motor Park in Otukpo Local Government Area on the 4th of August, 2026. The suspects, Younas Mohammad, 36; Ahmad Nunil, 38; and Aslam Muhammad, 46, were intercepted on their way to Adoka village.
In a separate operation, two other Pakistanis, Juma Sharif, 30, and Muhammed Sharif, 25, were arrested at a local hotel in UGBOKOLO, with 11 Tecno Camon 50 Pro mobile phones recovered from them.
During investigation an additional 23 Tecno Camon 50 Pro phones and 1 Infinix Hot 60 phone was recovered, bringing the total number of recovered mobile phones to 35.
CP Cletus Nwadiogbu, Commissioner of Police, in a statement, disclosed that the five suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Makurdi, for discreet and comprehensive investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding their presence, activities and movements within the State.
