Police Recapture Crime Space, Arrest 145, Rescue 18 Kidnapped victims

The Police, in sustained offensives, are recapturing crime space, arresting 145 criminal suspects and rescued 18 kidnapped victims across the country between August 22 and 28, 2026.

CSP Ani Iniedu, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, at the weekly operational briefing, revealed that the police recovered 26 firearms, 511 rounds of ammunition and 11 vehicles, while three armed suspects were neutralised.

In Kwara, police rescued the Onigbesi of Igbesi, HRH Oba Moses Oyinloye Omotayo, and two other victims after a gun duel with suspected kidnappers, while one kidnapper was neutralised. In Kaduna, two AK-47 rifles and 503 rounds of ammunition were also recovered.
Other operations saw police raid a suspected baby factory in Ogun, rescuing two pregnant women and four children, while 51 suspected drug peddlers were arrested in the FCT. Police also recovered firearms in Taraba and Imo and rescued three kidnapped victims in Kaduna.

The NPF said the Force would sustain intelligence-led and community-based operations to protect lives and property and bring criminal elements to justice.
