The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has opened a new outpost in Olorunda, a border community in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, to strengthen the fight against illicit drug trafficking and abuse.

The outpost is strategically located along a border route identified by stakeholders as a possible channel for the movement of illicit substances into the community and its environs.
The outpost was facilitated by the traditional ruler of Olorunda, Oba Philip Ogunsola, as part of efforts to curb drug-related activities and protect young people from substance abuse.
Parents and community leaders say the growing availability of illicit drugs poses a threat to children and youths, with potential consequences for their health, education, and future.
At the handover of the renovated facility, the Ogun State Commandant of the NDLEA, Commander of Narcotics Tijani Rabe, commended Oba Ogunsola for providing and renovating the facility to meet the agency’s operational standards.
The community hopes that the new outpost will strengthen surveillance, enforcement, and public awareness, helping to protect young people and create a safer environment for them to pursue their education and build productive futures.
