Two suspected bandits have been eliminated and a N10 million ransom recovered by local hunters following the release of a kidnapped victim in Falgore Forest, Doguwa Local Government Area of Kano State.

CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, Police Public Relations Officer, Kano State Command, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement, the victim, 45-year-old Kabiru Aliyu, was released unharmed after the ransom was collected on October 17, 2026.
Kiyawa said the suspected bandits were rounded up in a security operation by local hunters, known as Yan Bula, while returning to their hideout after collecting the ransom. Two of them were neutralised, while the third escaped with injuries, but the entire ransom was recovered intact.
CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, Commissioner of Police, commended the hunters and directed security operatives to intensify the search for the fleeing suspect and recover any weapons.
He said the rescued victim has been medically examined and reunited with his family.
