FCT Police Probe Alleged N450,000 Solicitation by Officer

The FCT Police Command has ordered an investigation into allegations that an individual was asked to pay N450,000 for “mobilisation and petition” in connection with a matter brought to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department.

The allegation was contained in a video circulating on social media, in which a content creator identified as Tumma Gabriel claimed that he was asked to provide the money while seeking investigation into a matter at the FCT Police Command.

In a statement issued on Thursday, October 8, 2026, the Command said it strongly condemned any act of solicitation or demand for payment by police officers in connection with investigations.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD, FCAI, has consequently ordered a thorough investigation to establish the facts surrounding the allegation and identify any officer who may be involved.

The Command said any officer found culpable would be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Police Act and Regulations.

The police also appealed to Gabriel to contact the Command on 08180382808 and visit the Command Headquarters to assist the investigation by providing relevant information that could help identify the officer or officers allegedly involved.
