A magistrate court in Abuja has sentenced a motorist Atada Victor to two weeks of community labour and payment of 1.8 million naira financial liabilities for dangerous driving, assaulting an FRSC Marshal and other traffic-related offences.

In a statement signed by Osondu Ohaeri, Corps Public Education Officer, the incident occurred during a routine traffic enforcement operation in the FCT when the offender, driving a vehicle was flagged down by the corps’ patrol team for a traffic violation. Rather than complying with the lawful directive to stop, he deliberately accelerated, knocked down the arresting Marshal and rammed into the Corps’ patrol vehicle in a desperate attempt to evade arrest leaving the Marshal with serious injuries to the head, eye and other parts of the body.
The offender was arraigned before the magistrate court, Wuse judicial division, Abuja where he was sentenced to two weeks of community service aside payment of ₦1.08 million total financial liability.
