Developing 8-Countries Pushes Green MSMEs, Finance As Keys To Growth

The D-8 Organization says stronger regional cooperation and better access to finance will help MSMEs become more competitive and sustainable.

To mark International MSME Day, the D-8 convened a special webinar with over 40 participants from member countries, including Nigeria.

In a statement by Ambassador Sohail Mahmood , D-8 Secretary General stressed that green innovation and tourism are also key to growing small businesses across its member states.

Ambassador Sohail Mahmood affirmed that MSMEs are the engine of growth and the backbone of D-8 economies, and the transition to greener economies presents vast new opportunities.

Speakers highlighted circular business practices, AI for inventory, and Malaysia’s tourism model as areas where MSMEs can tap into global value chains.

Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Bangladesh also shared national plans on the green industry, climate coalitions, and sustainable supply chains.
