The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reserved judgment in multiple appeals challenging the tribunal’s verdict on the outcome of the September 2024 Edo State governorship election.

The appeals include those filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, the Action Alliance, the Accord Party; and their respective candidates in the governorship election.
A cross-appeal was also filed by the All Progressives Congress and its candidate, Monday Okpebholo.
Counsel to the PDP, Robert Emukpoeruo, argued that the election tribunal fell-short by not properly considering alleged non-compliance with the Electoral Act, specifically pointing to missing serial numbers on Form EC25B.
However counsel to Okpebholo, Onyechi Ikpeazu, objected to the position of the PDP saying that the appellants failed to provide substantial evidence of irregularities and that the forms in contention were not designed to capture serial numbers.
The three-member panel of Justices led by Justice Mohamed Danjuma, after listening to the arguments, announced that the judgment date will be communicated at a later date.
