Nassarawa State Police Command have arrested a 21-year-old suspected female arms runner following credible intelligence.
The suspect, Fatima Salisu, a native of Funtua town, Katsina State, was arrested at the Azuba area of Lafia while allegedly transporting ammunition through Keana and Doma LGAs, en route to deliver the consignment to criminal elements in Katsina.
Ramhan Nansel, Nasarawa Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the arrest in a statement, noting the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Nasarawa State Police Command arrested the suspect based on an intelligence.
Ammunition recovered from the suspect are 400 rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition and 81 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition.
According to the police, the suspect now in custody is helping with useful information.
