Troops of the 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt, in conjunction with other security agencies, have arrested twenty-eight suspected oil thieves in Rivers and Delta communities.

The joint operation according to the Acting Deputy Director of the Nigerian Army 6 Division public relations Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah, resulted in the seizure of over two hundred and ninety thousand liters of stolen products across the region.

According to the military, the arrested suspects were apprehended in the line of duty in Okrika local government, while their operational wooden boats were confiscated.
The Joint Task Force also stormed Ethiope East in Delta state, leading to the arrest of a suspected pipeline vandal as their operational vehicle and other items used in their nefarious activities were confiscated.
The General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army Major General Emmanuel Emekah, while commending the troops, charged them to sustain the operational tempo in clamping down on economic saboteurs.
