The suspects—Samson John, 25; Olufowora Michael, 28; Odeh Samuel Ejeh, 25; and Olajide Jeremiah, 28—were apprehended following a complaint lodged at the police station.

According to the police, the incident was reported on April 16, 2026, at about 11:30 p.m., with the complainant alleging that earlier that day, at about 1:00 p.m., one of the suspects, Samson John, alongside six accomplices still at large, invaded his residence, assaulted him, threatened him with an axe, and robbed him of his mobile phone, identified as an iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Police operatives, acting swiftly on the report, tracked and arrested the suspects. Items recovered from them include a locally made pistol, an axe, suspected charms, and the stolen iPhone.

The suspects are currently in custody, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang who remain at large. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the operatives for their prompt response and professionalism, reiterating the Command’s zero tolerance for cultism and other violent crimes.

He assured residents that all criminal elements would be decisively dealt with and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
