The Nigeria Police Force has arrested six suspects in connection with the deadly attack on its Tactical Teams by suspected armed herdsmen and local militias at Agu Centre, Katsina-Ala/Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.

In statements by Benjamin Hundeyin, Force Public Relations Officer, the attack, which occurred on Friday, September 19, 2025, led to the death of three police officers, while seven others are still missing.
He explained that the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Innocent Ifeanyi Emenari, is leading the ongoing response operation geared towards rescuing the missing officers and apprehending fleeing suspects.
In a separate statement, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, strongly condemned the incident, describing it as cruel, unwarranted, and an affront to the people of Benue State.
Egbetokun confirmed that the arrested suspects are in custody and assisting investigators with useful information. He also directed the deployment of additional tactical assets to the area, assuring that no stone would be left unturned in restoring peace and security.
The police further appealed to members of the public to remain calm, vigilant, and supportive of security agencies, as efforts continue to rescue the missing personnel and dismantle the criminal networks behind the attack.
