The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected member of the Eiye Confraternity cult group and recovered a locally made single-barrel pistol during an intelligence-led operation in Mushin.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Segun Alani, was arrested following credible information about cult-related activities around Ogunmokun Under-Bridge, Mushin.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, operatives of the Command immediately mobilised a surveillance team to the area following the information.
The police said Alani was arrested during the operation, while a search of the bag in his possession led to the recovery of a locally made single-barrel pistol concealed inside it.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is providing useful information to assist the ongoing investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their prompt response and intelligence-driven operation.
Fatai reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to disrupting cult-related activities and recovering illegal firearms across the state.
He also warned cultists and other criminal elements to desist from their activities or face the full weight of the law.
The Command urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police for prompt response.
