Troops Have Arrested More Terrorists Across The Country – Defense Headquarters

The Armed Forces of Nigeria said it has neutralized scores of terrorists, including one Nkwachi Eze Otherwise known as Onowu who has been on the wanted list of the military.

Major General Markus Kangye, Director Defence media Operations made this known while addressing journalists on the operational activities of the armed forces in Abuja

Major General Kangye revealed that, Nkwachi Eze Otherwise known as Onowu has been on the wanted list of the military having been responsible for coordinating series of attacks and kidnappings across the South East.

He disclosed that, the troops have also taken into custody, one Buhari Umar, a wanted suspected gunrunner who also double as leader of a kidnapping syndicate terrorizing Gombe, Bauchi, Plateau and Kaduna States.

The DMO also disclosed that the troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE arrested a 5-man kidnapping syndicate in Lafia LGA of Nasarawa State and rescued 173 kidnapped hostages, while over 204 terrorists and members of their families surrendered to own troops.

Also in the south south region Troops of Operation DELTA SAFE foiled oil theft worth over 1.9 billion naira.

He said the military high command reiterates its commitment to remain focus in ensuring national security and welfare of its personnel as troops continue to put in more efforts to safeguard the nation’s territorial integrity and protect citizens from all forms of threats.
