Troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have neutralised bandits, recovered rustled livestock, and restored public order during sustained operations across Kaduna State on 20 and 21 June 2026.

Acting on credible intelligence on 20 June, troops intercepted fleeing cattle rustlers in a Kaduna community. The criminals were engaged in a firefight, with two suspected bandits neutralised. Weapons, ammunition, and rustled livestock were recovered. One civilian was killed during the incident due to the bandits’ actions.

Later that night, troops intercepted two suspected bandits during patrol. A search revealed digital materials linking them to terrorist and bandit activities. Both suspects are in custody undergoing investigation.

On 21 June, troops on fighting patrol forced armed criminals to retreat into the bush. Two suspected bandit scouts were apprehended with motorcycles and communication devices containing incriminating evidence.

That same day, troops responded to civil unrest in Mararraba community after a mob killed a female suspect accused of child trafficking. The crowd attempted to attack public infrastructure and block a major highway before security forces arrived. Troops dispersed the mob, secured critical facilities, and restored traffic flow.

The Theatre Commander commended the troops’ vigilance and discipline. He said the successes show the Force’s resolve to pursue terrorists and bandits relentlessly. He assured residents that offensive and intelligence-driven operations will continue to degrade criminal networks and boost security.
