Governor of Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State , on Tuesday formally launched a statewide political mobilisation framework aimed at supporting the re-election bid of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
The initiative, tagged Renewed Hope Ambassadors, was inaugurated at the Gani Fawehinmi Arcade Ground in Akure. The governor described the programme as a structured grassroots political architecture designed to drive coordinated engagement across all communities in the state.
According to Aiyedatiwa, the event marked more than a ceremonial unveiling, but the activation of “a movement of conviction, organisation, and disciplined mobilisation,” signaling a transition from political intent to coordinated action.
He explained that the platform serves as the grassroots engine of a broader national political strategy, noting alignment between the Federal Government and the National Assembly toward securing President Tinubu’s second term.
Participants, he said, are expected to function as frontline representatives of this effort, engaging citizens at all levels—from local governments to wards and households—with messages centered on reform, continuity, and progress.
Aiyedatiwa emphasised that the Renewed Hope Agenda represents a practical governance framework focused on addressing structural economic challenges while promoting sustainable development. He cited infrastructure development, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and road linkages toward the Benin corridor, as well as agricultural revitalisation and growing investor confidence.
The governor also highlighted Ondo State’s alignment with federal priorities in tourism, the marine economy, and industrial expansion, stressing that synergy between federal and state governments is critical to achieving policy goals.
He urged the newly appointed ambassadors and coordinators across the 18 local government areas to prioritise discipline, organisation, and credibility in their mobilisation efforts.
“Mobilisation is not noise-making but structure,” he stated, calling for clear, coordinated communication strategies that resonate with citizens, including the use of local dialects where necessary.
Reaffirming political commitment, Aiyedatiwa declared that efforts toward the 2027 elections had already begun, reiterating that the ultimate goal is President Tinubu’s re-election.
In his address, Imo State Governor and Director-General of the initiative, Hope Uzodinma, described the programme as a strategic national project. Represented by Senator Adedayo Adeyeye, he said the initiative aims to deepen grassroots engagement and strengthen political structures nationwide.
Uzodinma credited the Tinubu administration with implementing bold reforms that have stabilised governance, improved revenue generation, and increased federal allocations to states. He also pointed to gains in education and labour stability.
He expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure a decisive victory in 2027, projecting widespread national support.
Ondo State APC Chairman, Babatunde Kolawole, described the event as a consolidation of existing political strength rather than a persuasion effort. He commended the turnout and expressed confidence that the party would deliver one million votes for Tinubu in the state.
In his welcome remarks, the Ondo State Coordinator of the initiative, Victor Olabimtan, said the platform was established to strengthen engagement between the presidency and citizens ahead of the elections.
Olabimtan highlighted achievements of the current administration, including infrastructure expansion, youth empowerment, and education reforms. He stressed the need to counter misinformation and improve communication between government and citizens.
He explained that the structure operates across local government and ward levels, supported by a multi-tier system designed for mobilisation, information dissemination, and party coordination.
Activities under the initiative will include town hall meetings, roadshows, and stakeholder engagements aimed at enhancing civic participation and feedback.
The event was attended by key political stakeholders, including the Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji; members of the State Executive Council; traditional rulers; religious leaders; and party supporters.
The inauguration signals the formal rollout of Ondo State’s political strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
