FG,ASUU MEETS TO END STRIKE

There are several indication that the On-going ASUU strike may be put on hold on Monday as the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, will be meeting the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities on Monday to conclude the negotiation on the suspension of the strike by ASUU, which has entered the sixth week.
The leadership of ASUU noted that the strike was informed by the poor funding of the nation’s universities and staff remuneration.  The strike which began on November 5 had rendered many academic activities useless while many students are forced to sit at home.
According to an information emanating from the office of the Minister of Labour and Productivity said the Meeting will commence at 4pm to discuss and likely call of the strike.
