The Ogun State Police Command has clarified circumstances surrounding a disturbance at the Oru-Ijebu Police Division, stating that no student was detained at the facility.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the command said a group of students mobilised to the station, alleging that some of their colleagues were in police custody.
However, the Divisional Police Officer reportedly confirmed that no student was being held at the division.
The police said the situation escalated when the students became agitated, breached the station gate, and began throwing stones and bottles, posing a threat to personnel and property.
According to the command, reinforcements were immediately deployed, and teargas was used to disperse the crowd, after which normalcy was restored in the area.
The police urged members of the public, particularly students, to channel grievances through lawful and peaceful means.
Reaffirming its commitment to professionalism and public safety, the command assured residents of continued efforts to maintain peace and order across the state.
