Troops of the Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, in a combat operations against a coordinated attack by ISWAP terrorists at Buni Gari, in BORNO state have eliminated over 50 terrorists, in the early hours of Thursday, 8 May 2026.
In a statement, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, media information officer Operation Hadin Kai says, large cache of arms and ammunition were also recovered from the fleeing remnants of the terrorists, noting that no part of the camp was breached.
The Air Component Command of Operation Hadin Kai played a decisive role in the engagement, providing persistent surveillance coverage that enabled real-time situational awareness enhancing accurate target acquisition.
Two soldiers paid the supreme price in the course of the engagement.
