Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State Governor, has congratulated residents of the state for their support and cooperation as his administration marks seven years in office.

The governor described the journey so far as one characterised by shared sacrifice, resilience, and collective progress, noting that the achievements recorded by his administration were made possible through the support and trust of Lagosians.

In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu, said the administration commenced its journey seven years ago with a clear vision of building a greater Lagos that works for all residents.

“Seven years ago, we began this journey with a clear vision to build a Greater Lagos that works for all. Today, I salute every Lagosian for the trust, patience, and partnership you have shown,” he said.

According to the governor, the support of residents has remained the foundation for the milestones achieved across various sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, urban transportation, youth empowerment, and urban renewal projects across the five divisions of the state.

Sanwo-Olu noted that despite global economic challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and other socio-economic issues, his administration has remained committed to implementing the THEMES+ Agenda for the development of the state

He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing ongoing projects and initiating new programmes that would positively impact the lives of residents.

“As we mark this seventh anniversary, I want to assure Lagosians that the best is yet to come. We will not rest on our oars. We will do more in providing quality roads, affordable housing, reliable healthcare, world-class education, and a secure environment where businesses can thrive,” the governor stated.

Governor Sanwo-Olu urged residents to continue supporting government policies and programmes aimed at achieving sustainable development, while also calling on the private sector and development partners to strengthen collaboration with the state government.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda has contributed significantly to the successes recorded by Lagos State in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and empowerment.

The governor further noted that his administration had presented an account of its stewardship to Lagosians through ministerial press briefings held over the past month.

“All our modest achievements in the past years have been presented to the good people of Lagos,” he added.

Sanwo-Olu also appreciated civil servants, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders, and members and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their contributions to the growth and development of Lagos State over the past seven years.
