Federal Government Deploys 11 New Ambassadors

Sola Enikanolaiye, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, has presented Letters of Credence to 11 Ambassadors and High Commissioners-designate ahead of their deployment to various missions abroad.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the envoys presented with their letters include Ambassador Femi Fani-Kayode, posted to South Africa; Ambassador Jane Adams Bassey, posted to Jamaica; Ambassador Samuel Abimbola Tolulope, posted to Italy; and Vice Admiral Ibas Ibok-Ete Ekwe (Rtd), posted to the Philippines.
Others are envoys to Gabon, Sudan, Malaysia, Mali, Zimbabwe, Hungary and India, with several holding concurrent accreditation to other countries.

The Minister said President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda prioritizes foreign policy that serves national development. He charged the envoys with attracting foreign investment, promoting trade, protecting Nigerians abroad, and advancing citizen-centred diplomacy.

He mentioned that each Head of Mission will receive a customized Station Charter and will be subjected to annual performance evaluations. Speaking on behalf of the envoys, Vice Admiral Ibas Ekwe pledged to uphold Nigeria’s image and faithfully implement the President’s foreign policy objectives.
