Sanwo-Olu Presents Cheques To 150 Beneficiaries For Lands Acquired By Lagos State

Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State Governor, on Monday, publicly presented compensation cheques to 150 beneficiaries whose lands were acquired by the Lagos State Government.

The event was held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.

Governor Sanwo-Olu was joined by Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; Secretary to the State Government, Barr. ‘Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin; Chairman, House Committee on Lands, Hon. Olayinka Kazeem; Permanent Secretary, Lands Bureau, Mr. Kamar Olowoshago; and Executive Secretary, Land Use & Allocation Committee, LUAC, Mrs. Ajetunmobi Ololade.

Also, in attendance were representatives of affected institutions, including Iranlowo Oluwa Mosque and Foursquare Gospel Church, alongside other beneficiaries.

The compensation exercise is part of the state government’s commitment to ensuring transparency, fairness, and prompt settlement of claims arising from government acquisition of lands for public projects across Lagos.

Speaking at the presentation, Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated that the administration remains committed to upholding property rights while balancing the need for infrastructure development and urban renewal in line with the THEMES+ Agenda.

He charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the compensation and assured that the government would continue to engage stakeholders to minimize disruptions during acquisition processes.

The public presentation is tagged as part of ongoing efforts toward a greater Lagos.
