Suspected armed bandits have abducted the Chairman of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Hon. Nura Umar Bungudu, and killed two of his security guards in a fresh attack.
The rampaging gunmen stormed Bungudu town in the early hours of Saturday and went straight to the council chairman’s residence in the Zango area of the town.
A family member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the gunmen overpowered the security personnel at the residence.
“They killed two police officers and vigilantes before whisking away the chairman and some members of his family,” the source said.
