Nigerian footballers are set for a prominent presence in this season’s UEFA Champions League following the completion of the league phase draw on Thursday.

Among the Nigerian players expected to attract attention are Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray, Ademola Lookman of Atletico Madrid and Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen.
Other Nigerians expected to feature in the competition include Nathan Tella of Bayer Leverkusen, Raphael Onyedika of Eintracht Frankfurt, Moses Usor of LASK Linz, Zaidu Sanusi of Porto and Christian Nwachukwu of Sabah FK.
The Champions League league’s phase is scheduled to begin between September 8 and 10, with the Nigerian contingent expected to face some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Several high-profile fixtures also emerged from the draw, with Barcelona set to face Paris Saint-Germain, while Arsenal will meet Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Liverpool will take on Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan, while Manchester City are scheduled to face PSG.
Other notable encounters include Barcelona against Galatasaray, as well as Atletico Madrid versus Manchester United.
With several Nigerian players involved and a number of heavyweight clashes on the schedule, the league phase promises to provide major European tests for the Super Eagles stars and their respective clubs.
