The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Abuja Operations Office, has assessed the impact of flooding in Trademoore Estate, Guzape, and Galadimawa communities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The assessment followed reports of flooding in parts of the territory and was aimed at determining the extent of the impact, identifying affected locations, and gathering firsthand information to guide appropriate emergency response measures.
The NEMA assessment team visited the affected communities, inspected flooded areas, and engaged residents to document the effects on homes, access roads, and other critical facilities.
The exercise also provided the agency with an opportunity to obtain updated information from affected residents and assess emerging needs that may require further attention in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
NEMA said findings from the assessment would support ongoing coordination of appropriate interventions and strengthen engagement with relevant agencies involved in flood management across the FCT.
The Agency urged residents, particularly those living in flood-prone areas, to remain vigilant, heed safety advisories, and take necessary precautions as the rainy season continues.
NEMA Abuja Operations Office will continue to monitor the situation and work with relevant stakeholders to strengthen preparedness and response measures across the FCT.
