The Delta state police command has rescued a Kidnap Victim along the Eko-Amukpe road in Sapele.

Edafe Bright, command PPRO, in a statement, narrated that the Sapele police division received a distress report that a woman was abducted while attempting to drive into her compound.
The kidnappers had fled with the victim after shooting into the air to scare residents and took her into a nearby bush before the police surveillance teams and local vigilantes chased the suspects to the nearby bush.

The search for the victim in the bush lasted all night into the morning, while constant pressure by the police and gun exchange made the kidnappers abandon the victim and fled into the forest.

The woman was abandoned by the fleeing kidnappers after the hot exchange of gunfire, and was rescued unhurt by the joint patrol team, who later intensified the chase of the suspects after reuniting the victim with her family.
In a related development, the Delta Police Command Violent Crime Response Unit, acting on credible intelligence, raided black spots in the Delta community of Abraka, leading to the arrest of 8 suspects and the recovery of 3 locally made pistols, Tramadol and other suspected illicit drugs.

CP Samuel Erale, Delta Police Commissioner, commended the operatives and local vigilantes for the successes recorded; he reiterated the command’s determination to sustain intelligence-led operations and decisive action against kidnappers.
