The Ogun State Police Command has arraigned three suspects before the Ago-Iwoye Magistrate Court over alleged obstruction and serious assault on police officers performing their lawful duties.

The suspects are Alaba Mulika, 51, female; Alawode Iyanu, 21, male; and Temitope Saliu, 29, female.
The arraignment followed an investigation ordered by Bode Ojajuni, Commissioner of Police, into the incident, which occurred on 29th September, 2026.
Police said a team led by ASP Akeredolu Emmanuel had intercepted an unregistered Toyota Camry at Fibigbade Street, Ago-Iwoye. While the vehicle was being conveyed to the station, a Toyota Highlander with registration number JJJ 215 JV allegedly blocked its movement at Abobi Street.
A physical confrontation allegedly ensued, during which Inspector Abolarinwa Wasiu and Corporal Olubamiro Adeniyi were allegedly assaulted. Video recordings of the incident, which subsequently circulated on social media, formed part of the materials reviewed during the investigation.
Following the CP’s directive, detectives investigated the circumstances, visited the scene, and arrested the suspects. They will be charged on five counts bordering on conspiracy, obstruction of police officers, serious assault on police officers, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
The Commissioner of Police reiterated that the safety and protection of police officers on lawful duties remains a priority of the Command, and urged members of the public to channel complaints through lawful mechanisms and avoid physical confrontation with police.
