Police IGP Posts new Police Public Relations Officers to Commands Formations

IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, Inspector-General of Police has approved the posting of new Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) and Public Relations Liaison Officers to selected commands and formations of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen communication and improve public engagement.

The postings are aimed at enhancing access to credible police information, strengthening relations with the media and other stakeholders, and promoting transparency in police operations.

Under the new arrangement, SP Johnson A. Doghudje has been posted as the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 5, while SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji has been assigned to Zone 11, Osogbo.

Similarly, DSP Orchia Adndongu has been posted to the Benue State Police Command, while DSP Imah Unwana Victor has been deployed to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC).

Other appointments include ASP Abdulaziz Maharazu to the Police Academy (POLAC) and ASP Yusuf Adamu Aliyu to the Yobe State Police Command. ASP Haruna Rashid Umar Abdullahi has also been appointed Public Relations Liaison Officer for the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Gombe State.

The newly posted officers are expected to provide timely and accurate information on police activities within their respective areas of responsibility. The IGP charged them to uphold professionalism, responsiveness and accuracy while maintaining constructive relationships with journalists, stakeholders and members of the public.

The Force encouraged the media and members of the public to contact the designated officers for verified information and enquiries concerning police activities in their respective jurisdictions.

The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to strengthening transparency, effective public communication and constructive engagement as essential components of people-centred policing.
