Governor Inuwa Yahaya Submits 23 Commissioner-Nominees To Gombe Assembly For Confirmation

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has formally transmitted to the Gombe State House of Assembly a list of twenty-three nominees for appointment as Honourable Commissioners and members of the Gombe State Executive Council, seeking legislative approval in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

A statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General Press Affairs indicates that In a letter dated June 29, 2026, and addressed to the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, the Governor invoked Section 192 (2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), requesting the Assembly’s approval to appoint the nominees to assist in the formulation and implementation of government policies and the effective administration of the state.

The nominees are:

  2. Alh. Sanusi Ahmed
  3. Haj. Aishatu Mohammed Bose Ahmed
  4. Engr. Bala Adams
  5. Mr. Micah Sunday Hamman
  6. Mohammed Saidu Mohammed
  7. L.D. Faruk, Esq.
  8. Muhammad Gambo Magaji
  9. Prof. Aishatu Umaru Maigari
  10. Zubairu M. Umar, Esq.
    11.Adamu Dishi Kupto
  11. Shehu Yerima Abdullahi
  12. Ibrahim Shehu Turaki
  13. Sani Ahmed Haruna, Esq.
  14. Moses Kyari Bolda
    16.Yusuf K. Jalingo
    17.Dr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu
  15. Prof. Danladi Adamu Bojude

Governor Inuwa Yahaya noted in the correspondence that the nominees were carefully selected to provide policy direction and functional contributions necessary for the efficient running of the machinery of government and the consolidation of the administration’s development agenda.

In the letter, the Governor expressed confidence in the Assembly’s consideration of the request and conveyed the assurances of his highest regard to the Honourable House.

The Gombe State House of Assembly is expected to commence the screening and confirmation process in the coming days, after which the successful nominees will be sworn in and assigned portfolios to drive the next phase of the administration’s governance and development programmes.
