The Lagos State Police Command has reassured residents of the state following reports of a threatening notice allegedly pasted at a school, claiming that bandits intend to attack and abduct school children.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Command said there is currently no verified intelligence indicating any imminent threat of such an attack within Lagos State. While emphasizing that all security concerns are treated with utmost seriousness, the Police urged parents, guardians, school authorities, and residents to remain calm and avoid panic.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, has directed an immediate assessment of the situation and ordered watertight security measures across the affected area and other strategic locations within the state.
The Command disclosed that police personnel, working in collaboration with other security agencies, have been deployed to strengthen security around schools, critical infrastructure, and communities to ensure the safety of residents.
The Police further stressed that Lagos State remains secure and that all lawful measures are being implemented to prevent criminal elements from infiltrating or operating within the state.
“The Command will not tolerate any attempt by miscreants, bandits, kidnappers, or other criminal elements to threaten the peace and safety of residents. Any individual or group found engaging in acts capable of causing fear, panic, or insecurity will be decisively dealt with in accordance with the law,” the statement said.
Residents were encouraged to remain vigilant and continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information. The Police noted that security is a collective responsibility and that effective policing depends on active collaboration between law enforcement agencies and members of the public.
Members of the public were urged to promptly report any suspicious persons, objects, movements, or activities to the nearest police station or through the Lagos State Police Command emergency lines.
The Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring the continued safety, security, and well-being of all residents of Lagos State.
