The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has responded swiftly to a fatal road crash at Okokomaiko, which claimed the life of a roadside hawker, while also rescuing seven injured victims in a separate accident at Ogudu inward Toll Gate.

The fatal incident occurred at Okokomaiko and involved a Lexus Jeep with registration number SMK 674 HY. The crash led to the death of an adult male hawker.
Officials of LASTMA were said to have promptly arrived at the scene following a distress call, secured the area, and evacuated the remains of the deceased from the carriageway to ease traffic flow.
Subsequently, officers of the Nigeria Police Force from Ketu Division conveyed the body to the Badagry Mortuary for further procedures.
In a related development, LASTMA personnel also responded to a separate collision at Ogudu inward Toll Gate involving a Mazda commercial bus (MUS 231 YA) and a Lexus Jeep (FKJ 23 HL), which left seven passengers injured.
Emergency response teams, including operatives from the Ogudu Police Division and officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service, were on ground to assist. The injured victims were evacuated to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment.
Authorities confirmed that all vehicles involved in both incidents have been handed over to the police for further investigation into the causes of the crashes.
Reacting to the incidents, the General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads, comply with traffic regulations, and maintain safe speeds, particularly during periods of low visibility.
He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to ensuring road safety and efficient traffic management across Lagos State.
