The Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) under the leadership of its chairman and the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Kudirat Kekere Ekun, has approved the elevation of 68 Legal Practitioners to the position of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
The Committee at its 174 Plenary Session held in Abuja on Thursday came up with the approval, noting that the decision remains a mark of professional excellence on legal practitioners, who had demonstrated exceptional distinction either as advocates in the court or as academics, contributing significantly to the development of legal scholarship.
In accordance with the directive of the Body of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, all shortlisted Senior Advocate of Nigeria conferees are expected to attend and successfully complete pre swearing in induction programme.
Also, the committee said participation in this programme is a mandatory prerequisite for the formal conferment of the rank of SAN.
The swearing in fate for the conferment of the title of SAN is scheduled for October 12, 2026.
