The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has struck multiple terrorist strongholds in the North-West, neutralising armed bandits and degrading their operational bases during coordinated missions on 18 and 19 June 2026.

Under Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 1, NAF aircraft hit a confirmed terrorist stronghold within the Joint Operations Area, disrupting criminal activities and degrading their capability.

In a separate intelligence-led mission around Kidandan, NAF aircraft neutralised terrorists after positively identifying their movement. Follow-up reconnaissance over Fatika and Sabuwa confirmed no further terrorist activity.

The NAF said sustained aerial surveillance continues in support of friendly ground forces and ongoing joint operations across the theatre.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, noted that “decisive air power delivers its greatest effect when seamlessly integrated with surface operations.”

The Air Force said it remains resolute in employing intelligence-driven air power with ground forces to protect lives and restore peace in the North-West until terrorist and bandit networks are dismantled.
