The Ogun State Police Command has ordered an immediate investigation into an incident involving students of the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, and officers attached to the Igbesa Police Division.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on Monday night, prompting the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, to direct a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the development.
“The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has ordered an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the statement read.
The Command assured members of the public that the matter was receiving prompt attention and that due process would be followed to establish the facts surrounding the incident.
It added that any officer found culpable after the investigation would face appropriate disciplinary action in line with existing regulations.
The Police Command also reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, discipline and the protection of the rights of all residents, including students.
Students of OGITECH and the wider student community were urged to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding while the investigation continues.
“The Command further assures that justice will be pursued without compromise, and the outcome of the investigation will be communicated in due course,” the statement added.
