The Kaduna State Police Command says it has arrested 26 suspected kidnappers and recovered four locally fabricated firearms and part of ransom payments in a series of coordinated operations across the state.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, said the operations were carried out by operatives of the Command in collaboration with the Kaduna Vigilance Service (KADVIS) and Anchau Division patrol teams
According to the statement, the latest arrest was made following credible intelligence that led to the capture of one Jibrin Abubakar, also known as Oga, aged 21, and five others
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were responsible for the abduction of a 60-year-old man, Idris Adamu, on 22 September. The victim was held captive for several days before being released after the payment of ₦5 million ransom
Items recovered include two locally made pump-action guns, five empty cartridges, several amulets, and ₦546,000, believed to be part of the ransom collected from the victim.
