The Police have foiled a truck hijacking operation and recovered a stolen DAF truck in Ijebu Imushin, Ogun State.

Oluseyi Babaseyi, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Ogun State Command, in a statement, indicated that the truck, conveying motor spare parts, was hijacked by suspected hoodlums at Oke-Ado in Ijebu North Local Government Area.

Speaking on behalf of the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, the PPRO said operatives swiftly responded to a distress call, forcing the suspects to abandon the vehicle and flee.
A wooden-fabricated rifle wrapped with black tape was recovered from the truck, while the injured driver received first aid treatment.
Police say efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects.
