Seun Anikulapo Kuti, Singer and Son of the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti has asked Ibrahim Babangida to use the 7.2 Billion Naira donated during the launch of his book titled “A Journey in Service” for his presidential library to fund all the federal universities in 36 states of Nigeria.
Seun Kuti disclosed this on Saturday, He said, “Most of the public universities libraries in Nigeria are not well equipped because there is no money to fund the libraries.
There are libraries in each federal institutions but there is nothing inside, and that is the problem, where the people need the resources, there is no money to improve the education sector.
“Babanginda has enough money to build library for himself,he should use the N17.2 billion donated at his book launch to support federal universities’ libraries in Nigeria.
“Nobody can tell me that my uncle, Dr. Beko Kuti didn’t die as a result of June 12 after Abacha jailed him for 3 years, It was a miracle that he survived 10 years after he came back from prison. My family was greatly affected by the June 12 struggle.” he added.
