The first electronic E1 boat race in Africa is underway in Lagos with a colourful opening ceremony.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, among other dignitaries, arrived at the venue via the water transportation system with some boats set aside for the event.
The boat race is the continent’s debut in the E1 World Championship and also the the world’s first all-electric race-boat series.
E1 is a global competition competition, usually with high-speed, zero-emission electric race boats aimed at promoting clean and sustainable marine transportation.
