The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed reports of an impending cult clash in parts of the state, describing the circulating message as a false alarm.

This was disclosed. In a statement issued by Abimbola Adebisi, Police Public Relations Officer, which stated, “the rumour claimed retaliatory cult violence was planned in Shitta, Akerele, Itire/Aguda, and the Ishaga axis.
Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai has ordered intensified patrols and strategic deployment of personnel to the affected areas and adjoining communities, the statement said. Police say officers and operational assets were deployed promptly after the initial report, and the locations remain “well secured.”
“The Command wishes to reassure members of the public that there is no cause for alarm,” SP Adebisi said. Residents were urged to go about their lawful duties without fear, as police and other security agencies are on ground to maintain peace.
The Command advised the public to disregard unverified rumours that could trigger panic and to rely only on official sources for information.
The police reiterated their commitment to protecting residents and maintaining order across Lagos State.
