House of Representatives has pledged effective oversight of budgetary allocations aimed at empowering women across the country.
Kafilat Ogbara, Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs, stated this during an oversight visit to the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development, Abuja.
The lawmakers told the management of the centre that it is a critical component of legislative duties to ensure that funds allocated for women development are effectively utilized and translate into meaningful outcomes for Nigerian women.
The lawmakers described the centre as pivotal to a brighter future for women.
