IGP Directs Tasks Border Control Officers To Combat Traffickers

Kayode Egbetokun, Inspector-General of Police, has directed border control officers to intensify efforts in intercepting arms, narcotics, and human traffickers across Nigeria’s borders.

At a meeting with Commanders of Border Patrol Bases in Abuja, he instructed officers to submit detailed monthly operational reports highlighting their achievements,

Egbetokun emphasised that strong border security is vital for national safety and regional stability, urging personnel to return to their duty posts with renewed commitment.

He further disclosed that the Nigeria Police Force is investing in surveillance systems, drone technology, and data analytics to boost border management, assuring that every officer will be equipped with modern tools to perform effectively.
