The Ogun State Police Command has decorated 541 officers newly promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

The decoration ceremony, presided over by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, was held simultaneously at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, as well as at various Area Commands, Divisions and other formations across the state.
The promotion, according to the Command, is in recognition of the officers’ outstanding performance, discipline and dedication to duty. It also reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to merit, professionalism and institutional integrity.
Speaking at the event, CP Ogunlowo said the elevation would further strengthen the Command’s leadership structure and enhance its operational capacity. He described the promotion as both a reward for hard work and a call to greater responsibility and service.
The Commissioner also appreciated the families of the promoted officers for their support and sacrifices, noting that their encouragement played a vital role in the officers’ success.
He charged the newly decorated ASPs to uphold higher standards of discipline, professionalism and accountability, and urged them to intensify intelligence-led policing efforts to ensure the continued safety and security of residents in Ogun State.
The ceremony was conducted without hitches across all formations in the state.
