The Oladipupo Foundation for sickle cell founded by Dotun Oladipupo, is set to launch a new book titled “a warrior in crisis, a memoir of a sickle cell warrior” on Thursday Feb 11 2021 at Park inn Kuto Abeokuta with the presence of Senator Adeola Yayi and Hon Oladipupo Adebutu.
This is coming 10 years after his first book,”Fate” a fictional prose story of a sickle cell anaemia patient. This recent effort is a memoir of personal experiences of the author in the most gruesome three years of his life challenges with sickle cell anaemia.
The launch also coincided with the 10 years official anniversary of his foundation which started first as ‘Help a sickle child foundation before changing to Oladipupo Foundation for sickle cell.
Highlights of the event apart from the book public presentation includes the “Adopt a warrior” concept where interested people of goodwill will be enjoined to adopt a warrior not physically but financially or by way of scholarships and empowerments for warriors who are students, single mothers, unemployed graduates and of course empowerment of mothers of young warriors since it has been established that poverty is a major factor hindrance to well being of warriors in Nigeria.
Dignitaries expected at the occasion include; Rev. Esther Abimbola Ajayi(Iya Adura), Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Chairman, Ogun Guandong Free Trade Zone among others.
