President Bola Tinubu has summoned a meeting of the Council of State, comprising former leaders and top government officials, to address pressing national issues.
According to a press statement issued by the Presidency, the meeting is slated for today, Tuesday, August 13.
It is expected to bring together former Nigerian leaders including Yakubu Gowon, Ibrahim Babangida, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Olusegun Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan, and Muhammadu Buhari; former Chief Justices of Nigeria; President of the Senate; Speaker of the House of Representatives; all 36 State Governors and Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation.
The statement reads: “President Bola Tinubu Summons Council of State Gowon, IBB, Abdusalami, Obasanjo, Jonathan, Buhari Others for a meeting today.“The Council of State consists of the following persons: the President, who is the Chairman; Vice-President, who is the Deputy Chairman; all former Presidents of the Federation and all former Heads of the Government of the Federation.
“All former Chief Justices of Nigeria; President of the Senate; Speaker of the House of Representatives; all the Governors of the states of the Federation; the minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation.”
