Jigawa State Governor Donates N250 Million to Maiduguri Flood Victims

Mallam Umar Namadi, Jigawa State Governor donates 250 million naira to Borno flood victims while leading a high-powered delegation to Maiduguri to express solidarity and sympathy with the government and people of Borno State following the devastating flood disaster that recently ravaged several parts of the state capital.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Jigawa State, he said, during the visit, Governor Namadi extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the people of Jigawa State to the government and people of Borno for the tragic loss of lives and the widespread destruction of properties, offering prayers for the souls of those who lost their lives and praying Almighty Allah to grant them eternal rest and for the swift recovery of those injured in the disaster.

In a gesture of support, Governor Namadi announced a donation of 250 million Naira from the Jigawa State Government to assist in the relief efforts and provide care for the affected flood victims.

In response, Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum expressed his gratitude to Governor Namadi and his delegation for the visit of solidarity and the generous donation, noting that the gesture underscores the strong bond between Jigawa and Borno States and promised that the funds would be used to support those in dire need.

The delegation also visited the Shehu of Borno’s palace, where they offered prayers for divine intervention and protection from future disasters.

Governor Namadi’s delegation included the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim Nuhu Sanusi, the Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim, the Head of Civil Service, and other senior government officials.
