Prince Dapo Abiodun,Ogun State Governor has commiserated with the people of Owu Kingdom over the demise of their Monarch, Oba Dr. Adegboyega Dosunmu, Amororo ll, as he described his reign as a peaceful one.
Abiodun who paid a visit to the palace of the late Monarch, said the people of the town are enterprising and fearless, noting that his administration would continue to promote the culture and tradition of the State and stand by the Owu people during the time of mourning.
“Owu tribe is an important one, not just in Ogun State but in Yorubaland, the Owu’s are one of the four components that make up Egbaland, the Owu stool is a very old stool, Owu people are known to be enterprising, fearless and courageous, that is the Owu spirit”, he said.
The State helmsman noted that the contributions of the late Monarch to drama, culture, community development and the media would not only be missed by the people of Owu Kingdom, but by the State and the country at large.
“Oba Dosunmu will be fondly missed, I remember that he was one of the architecture of the Village Headmaster, a television soap opera, we all grew and stuck to watch the programme. He was a renowned broadcaster for many years and his 16 years reign on the throne was a very successful one, so we are going to miss him”, he said.
