IGP Olatunji Disu, Inspector General of Police has announced plans to officially launch the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Vigilant App and MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

The launch will take place at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre in Abuja as part of efforts by the Force to strengthen technology-driven policing, enhance communication and improve operational efficiency.
The NPF Vigilant App is designed to facilitate improved engagement, information sharing and communication between the Police and members of the public.
Similarly, the MTN CUG Network is expected to provide a dedicated communication platform to promote seamless and efficient communication among personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the initiative underscores the commitment of IGP Disu to leveraging modern technology and strategic partnerships to strengthen policing and improve service delivery.
The Force said the adoption of the technologies would enhance internal coordination and operational effectiveness while supporting more responsive and people-centred policing.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to harnessing technology, innovation and strategic partnerships to improve security services and strengthen its engagement with Nigerians.
