The Federal Government says efforts are ongoing to secure the release of Nigerians held in captivity across the country.

The statement notes that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume gave the assurance while receiving members of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria, FOMWAN, led by its National Amirah, Dr. Sumaye Fadimatu Hamza.
The SGF said the government remains committed to strengthening national security and protecting lives and property, expressing optimism that ongoing security operations would produce positive results.
The statement also urged faith-based organisations to continue supporting national peace and unity through prayers and community engagement.
He further commended FOMWAN for its contributions to education, humanitarian services, and social development.
FOMWAN National Amirah, Dr. Sumaye Fadimatu Hamza reaffirmed the association’s commitment to promoting education, healthcare, women empowerment, and humanitarian support across the country.
